The Akro Agate Company was one of the companies during the Depression that specialized in specialty glass items. They are most famous for their glass marbles, which is where the name aggies came from.
I like the Akro Agate plant pots. These pots could be easily found back in the 30's and 40's at five and dime stores and held tiny seedlings, how fun! I know I would love to purchase a plant in a beautiful akro agate pot, far from the green plastic containers found in nurseries today.
