Laundry Room Inspiration
Some people like to be on the go, not me, most of the time I want to stay home, I am most definitely a home girl. I love all things domestic.....cleaning, organizing, decorating, gardening, cooking, baking and yes, even doing the laundry! Laundry, since it is on most of our weekly to do lists, why not create a space, no matter how large or small, that is warm and inviting and makes doing the laundry more enjoyable and less of a dreaded chore. My laundry room wish list:
I have had these two photos on my home inspiration board for years, from an old article in Country Home Magazine featuring Tricia Foley's beautiful laundry cupboard, love everything about it!
I am pretty good about cleaning out the dryer lint trap, especially after doing a load of fluffy white bathroom towels. Recently, I read an article on dryer upkeep and was surprised to find out that just wiping the lint from the lint screen may not be enough, especially if you use dryer sheets. Apparently, dryer sheets leave a residue that collects on the lint screen and blocks normal air flow, which can lead to all kinds of unnecessary problems, ouch! Therefore, it is important on a regular basis to remove the lint screen and give it a good cleaning by running it under water, using a small amount of dish detergent and a scrub brush to remove the fabric softener residue from the screen. You can find the helpful article here along with other washer/dryer maintenance tips. Wishing you a good day!
